I am currently a Forensic Scientist IV in the Forensic Biology Section of the Phoenix Police Department’s Crime Laboratory, and have worked in this capacity for over six years.  Prior to working for the City of Phoenix I was employed at the Arizona Department of Public Safety’s Central Regional Crime Laboratory for three years as a Criminalist in the DNA section.

During my career I have participated in crime scene processing and evidence collecting, and have worked and consulted with officers and detectives on evidence collection at crime scenes.  I have also participated in several high profile investigations and taskforces by representing the forensic biology section at meetings, assisting with evidence collection at crime scenes, and screening items of evidence submitted to the laboratory.  In addition to these responsibilities, I am also the CODIS administrator for the Phoenix Police Department, with the responsibility of insuring the integrity of the DNA profiles entered by the forensic biology staff to the National DNA Index System.

I have a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Chemistry from Northern Arizona University and I am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University .  I meet the educational requirements set forth by the National DNA Quality Assurance Standards for a DNA analyst.  I am also a certified crime scene investigator, Level I, by the International Association for Identification Crime Scene Certification Board.
